मौसम ने अचानक इसलिए बदली करवट
पश्चिमी विक्षोभ के कारण जयपुर और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में कम दबाव का क्षेत्र बना। नमी और हवा के मिलने से चक्रवाती परिसंचरण बना। आधा किमी ऊंचाई पर नमी के बादल (क्यूम्बलस) बने। चक्रवात इतना तगड़ा रहा कि वह बादलों को 10 किमी की ऊंचाई तक ले गया। वहां क्यूमबलो लिंबस (गोभी के आकार का) बादल बना। ठंड से नमी की बूंदें जम गईं। आसमान में आधा किलो आकार तक के ओले बन गए। भारी होने से ये एक साथ तूफानी हवा के साथ नीचे आए। क्यूमबलो लिंबस बादल एक से डेढ़ घंटे तक ओले और बारिश से कहर बरपाते हैं।

जयपुर
शहर में रसगुल्ले के आकार के ओले गिरे। कई वाहन क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए। पक्षी मर गए। बिजली के तार टूटे।

बारां
ओलों ने खेतों में खड़ी और काट कर रखी गई फसल बर्बाद कर दी।

सीकर
सीकर के पाटन कस्बे में सड़कों पर ओलों की चादर बिछी नजर आई। तापमान लुढ़क गया।

यहां गिरे ओले
जयपुर, उदयपुर, राजसमंद, प्रतापगढ़, चित्तौडग़ढ़, सीकर, झुंझुनूं और अलवर।

बारिश और ओलों के बीच बारां में बिजली गिरी।  एक महिला की मौत हो गई।

शर्व - पूरे जगत को धारण करने वाली पृथ्वीमयी मूर्ति के स्वामी शर्व है, इसलिए इसे शिव की शार्वी प्रतिमा भी कहते हैं। सांसारिक नजरिए से शर्व नाम का अर्थ और शुभ प्रभाव भक्तों के हर को कष्टों को हरने वाला बताया गया है।
भीम - शिव की आकाशरूपी मूर्ति है, जो बुरे और तामसी गुणों का नाश कर जगत को राहत देने वाली मानी जाती है। इसके स्वामी भीम है। यह भैमी नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। भीम नाम का अर्थ भयंकर रूप वाले भी हैं, जो उनके भस्म से लिपटी देह, जटाजूटधारी, नागों के हार पहनने से लेकर बाघ की खाल धारण करने या आसन पर बैठने सहित कई तरह से उजागर होता है। 
उग्र - वायु रूप में शिव जगत को गति देते हैं और पालन-पोषण भी करते हैं। इसके स्वामी उग्र है, इसलिए यह मूर्ति औग्री के नाम से भी प्रसिद्ध है। उग्र नाम का मतलब बहुत ज्यादा उग्र रूप वाले होना बताया गया है। शिव के तांडव नृत्य में भी यह शक्ति स्वरूप उजागर होता है।
भव - शिव की जल से युक्त मूर्ति पूरे जगत को प्राणशक्ति और जीवन देने वाली है। इसके स्वामी भव है, इसलिए इसे भावी भी कहते हैं। शास्त्रों में भी भव नाम का मतलब पूरे संसार के रूप में ही प्रकट होने वाले देवता बताया गया है।
पशुपति - यह सभी आंखों में बसी होकर सभी आत्माओं की नियंत्रक है। यह पशु यानी दुर्जन वृत्तियों का नाश और उनसे मुक्त करने वाली होती है। इसलिए इसे पशुपति भी कहा जाता है। पशुपति नाम का मतलब पशुओं के स्वामी बताया गया है, जो जगत के जीवों की रक्षा व पालन करते हैं।
रुद्र - यह शिव की अत्यंत ओजस्वी मूर्ति है, जो पूरे जगत के अंदर-बाहर फैली समस्त ऊर्जा व गतिविधियों में स्थित है। इसके स्वामी रूद्र है। इसलिए यह रौद्री नाम से भी जानी जाती है। रुद्र नाम का अर्थ भयानक भी बताया गया है, जिसके जरिए शिव तामसी व दुष्ट प्रवृत्तियों पर नियंत्रण रखते हैं।
ईशान - यह सूर्य रूप में आकाश में चलते हुए जगत को प्रकाशित करती है। शिव की यह दिव्य मूर्ति ईशान कहलाती है। ईशान रूप में शिव ज्ञान व विवेक देने वाले बताए गए हैं।
महादेव - चन्द्र रूप में शिव की यह साक्षात मूर्ति मानी गई है। चन्द्र किरणों को अमृत के समान माना गया है। चन्द्र रूप में शिव की यह मूर्ति महादेव के रूप में प्रसिद्ध है। इस मूर्ति का रूप अन्य से व्यापक है। महादेव नाम का अर्थ देवों के देव होता है। यानी सारे देवताओं में सबसे विलक्षण स्वरूप व शक्तियों के स्वामी शिव ही हैं। 
इन आठ मूर्तियों के ऐसे विलक्षण व अनूठे स्वरूप की वजह ही पूरे जगत को शिव रूप माना गया है, इसलिए शिव की पूजा प्रकृति की पूजा और पालन पोषण ही होता है। संकेत है कि सभी की भलाई, मदद या उपकार करना ही शिव की वास्तविक पूजा है। इसी कारण यह धार्मिक मान्यता है कि जगत के सुखी होने पर ही शिव भी प्रसन्न होते हैं। वहीं किसी देहधारी या प्राणी को कष्ट दिया जाना शिव का अपमान भी माना गया है।
